U.S. Navy Awards Aegisound 5 Year, $25.3 Million Basic Ordering Agreement
Blacksburg, VA – April 15, 2011 – Aegisound has been awarded a sole-source contract worth up to $25.3 Million by the U.S. Navy for the delivery of Aegisound’s new line of advanced extreme noise hearing protection, communication and safety products. These products were designed primarily for U.S. DoD aircraft maintainers, but are also being sold to industrial and non-U.S defense customers.
Aegisound immediately received an initial delivery order for 6,930 units of their patented DC2 circumaural hearing protector. The DC2 provides Navy personnel with more than 10 times the safe exposure time, versus legacy ear muffs. A full line of advanced Aegisound products designed and fully tested for the U.S. Navy, will be deployed under this five year contract.
Aegisound to Outfit U.S. Navy Flight Deck Maintainers with Custom Molded Earplugs
Blacksburg, VA – February 23, 2010 – Aegisound was awarded a contract with the U.S. Navy to outfit flight deck maintainers with newly developed hearing protection. Custom molded earplugs provide dramatically improved and reliable hearing protection against the harsh noise fields encountered on flight decks. Aegisound will collect 4,000 sets of ear impressions needed to manufacture the CTE30X custom molded earplugs, and deliver and train individuals on how to use the 4,000 sets of earplugs and foam and earseal kits intended to upgrade the Navy’s legacy hearing protectors. The improvements in hearing protection offered by Aegisound’s foam and seal kits combined with the CTE30X are expected to increase the allowable noise exposure time by almost 16 times over existing legacy hearing protection.
Aegisound and Lockheed Martin Receive Mentor-Protégé Award from US Navy
Blacksburg, VA – September 4, 2008 – An industry Mentor-Protégé agreement between Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] and Aegisound LLC of Blacksburg, Va., was awarded recently. Aegisound will benefit from Lockheed’s training and mentoring over the next three years, to become a key supplier of hearing protection and communications equipment for the F-35 and US Navy flight deck maintainers.
